Our Project...
Tango Klezmer Project is a blending of the feelings, sounds, harmonies and rhythms arising from two rich and rooted musical styles.
Tango, a folk expression originated along the Río de la Plata, and Klezmer, a Jewish folklore originated at the Stetls (little Jewish villages in Center and Western Europe). Both styles are essential in Tango Klezmer Project's musicians, due to their immigration backgrounds and musical paths along theese styles, deriving in an unique and original music combination.
The quartet's proposal presents a spectrum of traditional and original compositions, comprising the Tangos Porteño's repertoire as well as traditional Klezmer melodies, preserving the essence of each style and resulting in a rhythmic and sensitive blending, a “Tanguish-Jew Dance”, a new sound that transcends boundaries and cultures. As a result, Tango Klezmer Project's live presentations are very vivid and joyful. Everybody is welcome to enjoy this travel and join us on board!
